All – we had a hugely successful launch for the Healthier Together initiative in northern West Palm and Riviera Beach! Roughly 75 people engaged in the process this week!
And thank you very much to Reed Daniel and Annetta Jenkins for pulling your resources together for the spaces and those who helped set-up and breakdown. It was such a pleasure working with both teams.
PHF is excited to move to the next steps! We’ll be summarizing all the insight gathered over the week and sending it back out to the master e-list. We’ll also be reaching out the nominated organizations regarding the fiscal agent role to begin the vetting process. This is a decision the Steering Committee will have to make but PHF can start the process.
I’d love your feedback on a couple of things:
1. Annetta had quite a few people interested in steering committee at her station both nights! We’re hoping to schedule the first formal steering committee meeting for December 16, 17 or 18. If the morning of December 18th works, we can meet at the PHF Pavilion on the campus of St. Mary’s. Would this work for people?
2. We need a subcommittee made up of steering and non-steering committee member to manage the hiring process. Ultimately it’s the steering committee who will make the hiring decision, but the committee will help to shape the job description, post the opportunity, someone will have to receive the applications and a process will need to be put into place to vet the applicants for interviews. This group can get moving on this prior to the steering committee meeting. Would any of you like to volunteer?
3. Finally, we will need a subcommittee for the naming of the project (also made up of steering and non-steering committee members). It’s probable this group can also meet before the first steering committee meeting too. Any volunteers?
