Our data includes both traditional formats (e.g., U.S. Census data) as well as other forms of information and knowledge—such as personal stories—that are essential in portraying a richer picture of our neighborhoods and the people who live there. To build this site, Palm Healthcare Foundation has brought together two different data platforms – Mapping Our Voices for Equity, a story mapping health equity strategy, and Community Commons, a democratized learning platform for health data. By doing so, we were able to develop a comprehensive data mapping tool for both quantitative and qualitative information, to help communities measure and share both the changes in health outcomes and behaviors, and the stories of how those changes were achieved. We are excited about the potential of these tools to capture and disseminate multiple forms of knowledge within Palm Beach County, in order to promote healthier communities.

– Community Forums: Take a look at the Mapping Voices tools for sharing story-maps with decision-makers.
– Social Media: You can share maps, stories, videos, any of the content on this site through your social media feeds, embed them in your website, email to your mailing list to support a campaign platform or funding proposal.
– Repurpose your data: The beauty of these tools is that they allow users to mix and match. You can recreate maps with new data layers, embed photos to illustrate a specific point, download our reports to customize as PDF’s or presentations, create different discussion guides or prompts for your data, etc.
