On January 21st, Hakeem Rahim, national speaker and trainer, spoke to 200 students at Atlantic High School about his journey with mental illness. Mr. Rahim encouraged the youth to know the signs and symptoms, to help a friend in need and to seek assistance for themselves when necessary. “There is no shame to seeking help. Once we get the help we need, there is hope,” said Rahim. The students had the opportunity to share their stories and ask questions following the presentation. Boca Raton’s Promise (sponsor) and Healthier Delray Beach (co-host) were on hand to support the students and provide local resources.
