The El Sol Health Fair was well attended this past Saturday. Approximately fifty members of the community took advantage of the professional help and training which was made available, participating groups; Jupiter Police Department – MyClinic – Jupiter Medical Center – Caridad Center – Center for Family Services – Legal Aid Society – Healthier Jupiter – Walgreens – Healthy Mothers- Healthy Babies! The emphasis on health continued into this week with Siobhan, from Jupiter Medical Center, coming in to give information about blood pressure and Diabetes. Those present were given information on the Passport To Health, by Betzy Rega, our Health Coordinator. The Passport To Health is a new El Sol tool to measure a workers’ contacts to health related resources. Betzy explained how to get signatures on their passports, from various organizations that come here, to better understand their health and the services available. Over twenty workers had their blood pressure taken. For many it was the first time and two were referred to MyClinic.
